Up ] Jobs in a Castle ] What were Castles for? ] [ Same or Different ] Castle Words ] Other Medieval Homes ]

Think about your home, make a list of all the rooms in it and what each is used for, an example would be: "bedrooms - for sleeping in".

Now make a list of the rooms or buildings that you would expect to find at a castle, think about how they are the same as the rooms in your home, then think about how they are different, make a list of each.

Ask yourself why the rooms in a castle would be different to the rooms in your home, think about the differences between how people live now and how they would have lived a long time ago.

Then ask yourself why the rooms in a castle might be the same as the rooms in your home, think about what people need in a home.

Using just one room from your home, make a list of all the objects or things in it, a good example would be a room that you use most in your home like your bedroom or the living room.

Now make a list of the things that you would find in that same room in a castle. Why are there so many differences?

If you have time you may want to do the same for each room in your home.
