The Ministry of Works were responsible for the Historic Monuments in the care of the State, they were involved in making Conisbrough Castle safe for visitors a process known as "consolidation".  The guide reproduced here is from a photocopy of the original, if you have access to an original copy we would be pleased to see it and reproduce it here.
